LEICESTER IN CUP BYE

LEICESTER have been handed a bye into the last eight of the Championship Knockout Cup.

The competition will take place with ties arranged taking into consideration travel arrangements.

Clubs have agreed to keep long distance journeys to a minimum where possible and the Watling JCB Lions will face Scunthorpe.

That means they will be up against former Leicester man Josh Auty and talented Danish racer Thomas Jorgensen, who is based in the UK.

Boss Stewart Dickson said: “We are relishing this cup tie, there will be a bit of rivalry between the clubs. I get on extremely well with the Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey, but I want to beat him!

“The dates will be revealed later this week along with the league fixtures. We are all extremely confident of getting the season started with things looking like they are improving throughout the UK.

“I’m delighted with my team and I want to win the league and cup double. That’s the aim.”

Championship fixtures are expected to be revealed in mid-week.
